Professor Heo Jin and Professor Kang Chang-mook of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Incheon National University

Incheon National University (President Park Jong-tae) announced that Heo Jin and Kang Chang-mook of Incheon National University's Department of Electrical Engineering received commendations side by side at the "Integrated Awards for Science and Technology Innovation" hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT.

Professor Heo Jin received a commendation of merit for the preliminary feasibility study of national R&D projects for improving efficiency and appropriateness in the technical and preliminary feasibility study of government R&D and contributing to the faithful operation. Professor Kang Chang-mook received a commendation of merit for solving social problems for contributing to the spread of R&D excellence and creation of urban autonomous driving patrol robots.

Meanwhile, Professor Heo Jin was selected as IEEE Fellow in 2021 for his contribution to the design of permanent magnet synchronous motors for automobiles as a master of high-efficiency electrical energy conversion based on electrical device design and control. Based on optimal control algorithms, Professor Kang Chang-mook is creating results in research fields such as patrol robots using robotics and artificial intelligence, IoT self-driving wheelchairs, multi-mobile robot control and control, and artificial intelligence-based failure diagnosis.
